About Us

Jake is a graduate student at BYU (only one year left!). Grant and I couldn't ask for a better dad or husband!

Chelsea is a stay-at-home mom. I love musical theatre and I teach Institute at UVU.

First Days

We've already had a busy week. Jake started his editing internship with the Church Magazines on Monday. He thinks he's really going to love it. He's already had several people mention to him that, basically, he is really good at what he does. I agree. He's with the Liahona and will have opportunities to edit, write, and hopefully even design some articles. As always, I am so proud of you, Jake! We don't get to see much of him because his bus to SLC leaves before 7am and gets back around 6pm, but it is worth it for him to be able to have this amazing experience. (Thanks, Jake, for finally giving in and letting me take your picture even though it probably made you feel like a little kid on the first day of school!)

Monday night my mom picked up my sister, Alisha, at the airport and they stayed at our house. Tuesday morning we met up with Derek and Austin between their classes at BYU with plans to get Alisha's things moved into her apartment (she wasn't able to move in before school started because she was renewing her residency in Spain). Apparently, whoever she is sharing a room with wasn't aware that Alisha was coming, because there wasn't a foot of space available for her on a bed, the floor, shelves, dressers, closet... We ended up stacking her stuff in the living room. What a mess!

Tuesday evening I taught Insitute for the first time. I was really excited and nervous, but felt that things went smoothly. I felt like the Spirit was helping me know what to focus on, what experiences to share, and what questions to ask. I don't know how the students felt, but at least I can say I did the best I could!

I'm glad Institute went well! And I like the first day pic of Jake. I made Scott put his backpack on for a first day of school picture too. I'm sure he loved me for that. :) But I liked Jake's lunch box. I wish I would have had Scott hold up his too. Maybe tomorrow I can get him to re-pose. . . :)

That's great, keep us posted on how it goes. By the way I love that you share your scrapbook pages.
