Let there be light!

Last night Jake and I got home late from his parents' house, and as we nestled down around midnight, our room lit up as if it were mid day. It passed quickly, and there was no sign of what it might have been. Car headlights? Doubtful, since the blinds had been closed. Jake jokingly said it was a missile and that we were all probably going to die in a moment. "I love you. It's been nice knowing you," were the words he chose for his last. It's been nice knowing you?! I don't get more than that?

This morning the news let us know that we weren't the only ones who had seen the light, and it was from a meteor.

Wow! Of all nights, I'm glad I stayed up late last night!

I'm sad I missed that. It must be a comfort to know though that your husband thinks it's nice to know you. I'm glad that those, his deepest feelings, came out in the face of death.
PS My word verification from google for this post is "butsloo." Now if that doesn't sound like something from Balderdash I don't know what does.
