The garden is now tilled, and as long as the snow is gone for a few days, I might get out there and plant some carrots and radishes this week. Grant loves to point to every picture in the Gospel Principles manual like ten times a day, and now he's recognizing more than just Jesus. He points to "Logan" in the missionary picture, says and pretends to eat the apple, shakes my hand when he sees the hand-shaking pic, says "ple" for each temple or Angel Moroni statue, roars at the lion, recognizes Thomas S. Monson and Joseph Smith on the page featuring all the presidents, and (my favorite) points to Abraham and says Bapa. Jake was so confused when he first heard this (since Grant doesn't have any grandpas that have long, white beards) but it all started the day Grant thought it was Jesus and I tried to explain who Abraham was. I may have mentioned that Abraham is likely his great-great-etc.-grandpa. I guess that part stuck, and weeks later he still thinks this is his grandpa. Cute. Confusing, but cute.
We had part of the fam here for dinner last night while Mom and Dad passed through on their way home (sorry Britto and fam, it was sort of last-minute). It's been a long time since we've had everyone here! Fun, as always.
I was reminded of a favorite scripture this week, and I'll pass it on to all of you. Paul instructs the Philippians to "be careful for nothing," (4:6) which in the footnote means to not be unduly concerned about anything. I'm just about a professional worrier, and this is a good reminder that I don't need to stress over every little detail. How can I possibly just throw away all the worry? Well, Paul continues, "but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God." I don't have to be a worrier because as I tell Heavenly Father my fears and stresses, I can put all the weight on His shoulders. Things will work out the way they need to. Don't get me wrong, caution is good, but stressing about things I can't change is only making me miserable. That's my thought for the day.
Let us know when you get your package, Bogues. Love ya!
