Grantisms

I know I haven't posted anything about the arrival of our baby, Sophie Angelina, but our internet is spotty and getting the pictures to work is a bit of a hassle right now. So instead I'm writing about her very proud big brother, who keeps us in stitches every day with the humorous things he says. Here are a few examples:

In addition to including Jimmer Fredette and "my team" (BYU basketball 2011) in his prayers, every time he sees a picture of the all-star player he jumps up and down and says, "It's my favorite guy! Jimmer!"

[after picking up a worm in the garden, which wiggled, so he dropped it] "That worm almost punched my hand!"

DAD: I gotta put this Cosco in the corner.
GRANT: Why are you calling it Costco?
DAD: Because that's what it's called.
GRANT: Surely it's not.

MOM: How does your haircut look?
GRANT: It looks splendid!

DAD: Grant, eat your dinner. Don't you like it?
GRANT: I like it, but it doesn't have any flavor. I'll save it for later.

MOM or DAD: What's our baby's name?:
(first day) "Her name's not Sophie. It's Olivia.
(several days later) "Dad, is our baby Sophie or Olivia?"
(one week after her birth) "Sophie Jelina"

"It's my favorite color! Orange!" (and then he thinks whatever is orange is his, whether it be a bolt of fabric at the store or a semi parked in our neighborhood)

MOM or DAD (almost daily): Grant, you can't reach that. You're too little.
GRANT: I'm not little! I'm too big to reach it!

To our baby, whether she's crying or not, in the tenderest, highest voice: "Oh! Poor little sweetheart!"

Love it!! I love to hear the things that little ones come up with. And to hear that they interact with new siblings. It is priceless.

Cute! I'm going to start telling people things are "trying to punch me in the hand." They are so cute. I need more photos...well, and a visit!
