So Grant had his appointment, which went well, and Jake passed his dental exam with flying colors.
I, however, got some depressing news from my doctor the other day. My maternal grandmother had arthritis, and my mom has recently been struggling with it, and my doctor says I'm pretty much on my way there, too. The sad part is that there isn't really anything I can do to stop or delay it--there are just things I can do to help the symptoms. I'm really not looking forward to living a life with joints that feel like they did when I was pregnant (I could barely move my fingers the last month). Right now, my knees are the culprits, sometimes getting so painful that I need help simply standing up from a chair or that I can't kneel to pray. The doc said that even though it hurts, it is better to use the joints to reduce the swelling instead of babying them too much.
On a lighter note, one benefit of this is that I am already appreciating my body more than I did a month ago--I'm more aware of it and am trying to use it more than I did before. It just gives me one more reason to look forward to the resurrection!

Now I can't call you a creaky old lady when you're older because I'll feel bad. Darn. One thing that might help if it gets bad is something called prozone shots. Scott's had a lot of back pain since his days in the Army and then they were exacerbated (sp?) from our car accident so when we were going to the doctor for that they gave him these shots and he hasn't had pain since. I sound like an infomercial don't I? Anyway, they might be something to look into down the road.
Chelsea, what a hard thing to go through. I know you though, and somehow you'll keep smiling and be your inspiring self even through the hard times. Thanks for letting us know. You are WONDERFUL! I love you girl, and I'll pray for you too!
I'm glad to hear that Grant and Josh's appointments went well and sorry to hear that yours didn't go as well as would be hoped. I hope that you can have some relief soon.
