After we went to the park, Grant and I stopped in at Lone Peak High School to see my good friend, Kay Thurman, who was the Support Specialist (secretary) at American Fork High while I was there. This year she's working at Lone Peak. She is so wonderful! We were the only two women in a building full of males, so we had to stick together. :) She was someone I could talk to through many big events in my life (learning to be a full-time teacher, not dating, dating Jake, getting married, having a miscarriage, and having a baby). I miss our conversations! It was really great to see her. One of the best things about true friends is that when you get together, no matter how long it has been, things still feel comfortable.
After our short visit with Kay, I picked Nyla up from her sister's watch-making party. You choose the stones/beads you want, thread them, and then buy a face to hook it all together. I thought Nyla's turned out really nicely! While we waited for some of her stones to have bigger holes drilled through them, Grant played with a second cousin, Ray. Grant is only a week or so older, but he seemed to be about double the size! Grant accidentally punched Ray in the face, and that was the end of their budding friendship...
