Here it is, folks. I've been looking for six weeks for the perfect thing to use my birthday money on, and as I was trying to take a nap with Grant last Saturday I saw an infomercial that piqued my interest. Usually, I'm the first person who switches the channel when infomercials come on, but this grabbed my attention immediately because I love digital scrapbooking. The YourStory machine is made by ProvoCraft (makers of Cricut), and it is a laminator and thermal book binder. You buy the hard covers for $3-$10 (with sizes ranging from 4"x4" to 12"x12"), insert the pages you want to make a book out of, slide it into the binder, it melts the glue, and attaches the pages to the book. This is the same system used for soft-cover books. So instead of buying binders, page protectors, and having to print on cardstock, I can print double-sided glossy sheets of my scrapbook pages and then make a hardcover book out of them! You can make recipe books, photo books, portfolio and resume covers, novels, and even your own blog book. Yay!
YourStory machines cost $100, but I won one on ebay for $39 yesterday (with free shipping!). You can't beat that! I am super excited about my new find!

Wow!! Nice find! Sounds fun! Keep us updated on how you like it.
That looks like an awesome thing to spend your birthday money on, and what an awesome deal :) You will have to show me a finished product from it. Charesse Betham has one too so maybe she has some pointers.
That's awesome!!! That sounds really great! You'll have to tell me how you like it when you get it.
Cool! I'll have to come see that thing in action! And P.S. the googly-eyed Grant was hilarious.
Do you just print your scrapbook pages at home, or do you take them somewhere so you're not wasting expensive printer ink? I can't wait to see you take pictures of your completed books (say, the first 6 months of Grant) and post how well this YourStory thing worked out for you!
