I just thought I'd add one thing. Yes, these strange comments are made in Relief Society activities, during Visiting Teaching, and other face-to-face situations. But I've been amazed at how prevalent it is online, too.
After five minutes on facebook today I counted four different threads where women were doing this to each other. One example: a young woman is frustrated because her baby has taken to pulling everything off of and out of her shelves and cabinets. Every response was, "Just wait until..." Not a single woman had yet posted a "Hang in there" or any other word of optimism.
I guess writing those encouraging comments will be part of my quest now, too. :)

Hey Chelsea I decided to come and see what you have been up to. You look amazing!!! I can't believe that Grant is already two! Time sure flies by! We hope to see you in July I think when we have our family reunion. :)
